What we collect

Comments. If you comment, we store your name, email address and comment text. Your name and comment are shown on the post; your email address is never shown. We use the email only to contact you about your comment. Comments are checked by Cloudflare Turnstile to stop automated spam.
Thumbs up and down. One vote per reader per post. We store a one-way, salted hash of your network address to enforce this, never the address itself.
Abuse protection. To limit spam we keep a salted hash of your network address with each comment, and apply short-term rate limits.
Page views. We count how many times each page is opened. The count has no cookies and no personal data: only the page and the day. Obvious bots are not counted.
Hosting and security. The site runs on Cloudflare, which processes requests and may keep short-lived security logs.
WhatsApp. If you use the WhatsApp button, WhatsApp opens with a message that includes the address of the page you were on. Your chat is then between you and us under WhatsApp’s own privacy policy.
Share links. Buttons that share a post to other networks add tags such as utm_source=whatsapp to the address so we can see which shares bring visitors. The tags do not identify you.
Analytics. We do not currently run any third-party analytics.
No advertising trackers. We do not sell personal data or show personalised ads.
