PMDC Clarifies FSc Requirements as UHS Opens Private MBBS Applications

Following reports on digital media, the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) issued a clarification stating that the minimum marks requirement for MBBS and BDS admissions has not been relaxed [1]. Separately, the University of Health Sciences (UHS) issued an admission schedule for the 2026-27 academic session for private colleges in Punjab [2]. The following details apply to these admissions:

• MBBS Admissions (Private Colleges):

  • Applications open on Friday, October 24, 2026 [2].
  • The deadline for submission is November 6, 2026 [2].
  • The first selection list will be announced on November 18, 2026 [2].
  • There are 34 private medical colleges in Punjab offering approximately 4,500 MBBS seats [2].

• BDS Admissions (Private Dental Colleges):

  • Applications will be received from December 18, 2026, to January 1, 2027 [2].

  • There are 18 private dental colleges in Punjab offering 1,100 BDS seats [2].

• Eligibility and Merit Calculation:

  • Candidates must have at least 60% marks in FSc (pre-medical) or an equivalent qualification [2].
  • Merit is calculated using matriculation/equivalent (10%), FSc pre-medical/equivalent (40%), and the MDCAT (50%) [2].
  • Candidates must secure at least 55% marks in the MDCAT for MBBS and 50% for BDS [2].
