Maryam Nawaz launches second phase of Punjab laptop and scholarship schemes

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has launched the second phase of the laptop and scholarship schemes for students in Punjab, according to Information Minister Azma Bokhari, who spoke on Sunday. The Nation reported the same announcement, saying Bokhari had announced the launch.

Bokhari said the chief minister was addressing the educational and social needs of young men and women across Punjab. She argued that technology, artificial intelligence and professional skills would shape the country’s future. She also said the government’s initiatives focus on education, technology and youth development rather than political slogans. According to Bokhari, the chief minister’s efforts were increasing her popularity among young people, and she was receiving international recognition for her practical measures.

Bokhari also criticised political sit-ins and long marches, saying they could not give young people better opportunities. She accused political opponents of launching personal attacks because of Maryam Nawaz’s performance and growing public support.

On Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Bokhari blamed Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) for the province’s security challenges. She criticised what she described as a period of false promises and alleged that the party had placed political interests above peace and national security.

Bokhari praised the Pakistan Army and other security institutions for their continued efforts against terrorism, saying their personnel were making daily sacrifices to protect the country. She added that criticism of security institutions during counterterrorism operations could weaken the morale of those serving on the front lines.
